Well, goes to show that you can't judge a book by its poorly rendered set photos as this trailer knocks it out of the park!

TRAILER REVIEW: Batman Vs. Superman - Trailer 2

Guys, this trailer is pretty great. And sure, I was a bit harsh on the first go-around, but I'm happy to say this was certainly a nice surprise. Now, there's a lot to digest here with a running time of almost 4 minutes, but let's focus on the biggest points.

TRAILER REVIEW: American Ultra (Red Band)

TRAILER REVIEW: American Ultra (Red Band)

Where films like Pineapple Express may have failed, American Ultra looks to be taking the stoner action film (a classic hollywood genre) to the level it always hoped to achieve and drops an amazing first trailer.

TRAILER REVIEW: Black Mass

TRAILER REVIEW: Black Mass

I'm not sure I've ever said this before, but Johnny Depp is absolutely terrifying. In this trailer I mean. That brief dinner scene plays out perfectly and delivers exactly what we need to know about our gangster and his creeping paranoia. Couple in the fact that those blue eyes and shark like stare are extremely unsettling and you have the makings of a defining performance for Mr. Depp.

TRAILER REVIEW: Batman Vs. Superman

TRAILER REVIEW: Batman Vs. Superman

The sadness truly dawns in this teaser trailer for Batman vs. Superman. Now, to be fair, I've never been extremely satisfied with the way Zack Snyder approaches DC heroes, take this episode of Blockbuster Punch-UP for example. But I'm also not a big fan of heavy handing religious themes throughout my superhero films. Those can certainly be interesting conversations, but not when you beat me over the head with it in a SUPERMAN and BATMAN teaser.

TRAILER REVIEW: Star Wars The Force Awakens

TRAILER REVIEW: Star Wars The Force Awakens

Let's get this straight, JJ Abrams knows how to shoot space sh*t. The man has an eye for it, but laying these monoliths we've only seen drifting among the stars in the sand and dirt is just staggeringly beautiful and something we haven't seen before in a Star Wars film. Not even in the super special CGI editions.

TRAILER REVIEW: Mad Max Fury Road

TRAILER REVIEW: Mad Max Fury Road

At this point, Mad Max has shot to the top of my must see list for this summer and this new trailer doesn't do anything but fuel my excitement (see what I did there). The visuals alone are absolutely breathtaking. Every inch of these sets and vehicles feels lived in and dripping with madness and adrenaline.

TRAILER REVIEW: Avengers Age of Ultron - Extended Spot

Now that's what I'm talking about! A few weeks ago I mentioned being a tad disappointed with the latest Avengers trailer as I felt it was missing something. Something primal and pulse pounding that just seemed off for some reason. Low and behold this gem drops online and is humming with every bit of charm, adventure, and wit that I've come to expect for the Avengers series.

TRAILER REVIEW: Mr. Holmes

TRAILER REVIEW: Mr. Holmes

Oof...that was not what I expected. And it's certainly tough to give such a poor rating when I'm staring at the title "Mr. Holmes" starring Ian McKellen. Sadly this trailer doesn't lean on its greatest strengths and instead it focuses on......background music?

TRAILER REVIEW: Age of Ultron - 3rd Trailer

As a third trailer and only sitting two months out from release, I'd expect to rate this a little higher, but there is a lot of "noise" permeating these two minutes. Now just like any of our trailer reviews, the rating is in no way a guess at the quality of the overall film, but I feel this was a bit of a trip at the finish line and while a 7/10 is in no way a harsh rating, I just expected a bit more.

TRAILER REVIEW: The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

If someone asked me if I'd like to see an odd-couple action comedy set in the swinging 60s fueled by Cold War era espionage featuring Superman and the Russian Lone Ranger, my response would undoubtedly be "Of course I'll try your drugs," but to my surprise and delight, this is a real thing folks.

TRAILER REVIEW: Trainwreck

Well that was adorable. I mean Lebron James of course. Please please please put that man in more things. His 15 seconds of screen time was fantastic. Of course this trailer is over two minutes and thirty seconds so I guess I should focus on our leads but still, love that guy.

TRAILER REVIEW: Daredevil

TRAILER REVIEW: Daredevil

Woah. I was pretty well-prepared for Daredevil to be taking a much darker approach to the MCU but this trailer is straight up grim. And I kind of love it. To be fair, we're talking about Hell's Kitchen here.

TRAILER REVIEW: Minions

TRAILER REVIEW: Minions

Well it looks like we have our first TrailFail folks and trust me, I get it, they're cute, but a trailer should be a call to action for the audience. I should be two minutes and thirty seconds deep riding the euphoria of the previous two and twenty-nine. Sadly, indecipherable dialogue, flashy villains, and Sandra Bullock does not a good trailer make.

Ah, the old debate. What constitutes an excellent trailer these days and what relegates itself to a plane of existence where the "trailfail" resides? I'm glad you asked. The answer is: me. "But what about opinion?," you cry. An illusion for sure, but lets not dwell on it.
